Show Topics? June 11th, 2005

Here are some stories and subjects that we might get to tonight depending on what you are thinking about or asking questions about:

Natalee Holloway is still missing, but this story seems to suggest someone has confessed to her killing. Will this cause some parents to reconsider letting their children make a senior trip? Is there any validity to those who suggest that this is only a story because it is a young, pretty, white girl? Is this really a non-story given that young adults of this age are old enough to be making their own decisions and perhaps even dying for their country in places like Iraq, and those sacrifices don't get equal coverage in today's media climate?

Settlements of allegations of abuse in the Church were in the news again yesterday and Kevin Wall discussed some of this on his Friday show. Are these settlements evidence of an acknowledgment within the Church that abuse was occurring in this parrishes? Should Catholics be more upset with a victim who is seeking justice or with a Church authority structure which may have been protecting an abuser rather than the abused?

Tort Reform is something that you know I am always willing to talk about. Here is just one of many articles addressing the issue.

This story via Romenesko reminds us that perhaps there should be a limit to the kind things that you try to do to help animals. I, for one, don't think that this should result in a lawsuit, however I am not familiar with all the facts and the investigation.
